To You...

#64: From Someone I No Longer Know

By the time you find me, I will already be old.
You will no longer meet the idealist that once inhabited this skin. Nor will you see the fire that used to burn in these eyes. My smile will already bear the ghosts of forgotten dreams; my laugh, the strains of disappointments past. I don't know if I will still bounce like a fool in a moment of freedom, now that my feet are shackled to the earth by the present that never ends.

Will you ever even know me?

This is really sad. It reminds me of a poem I once wrote, "Lost Afternoon." It ends with: "And when I reach out for you/ we will no longer be young." (I don't quite recall if that's the particular line... ). How coincidental that I read this right after re-discovering an old yearbook entry (someone from the past). I had to pause for a few minutes. Yes, I must have left an imprint there. The past is a country of ghosts. Though nothing changes there, no one can ever really fully explain to you why things happened the way they did.

Hey you. I'm certain you're someone who'd understand what was going through my mind as I was writing this.

Let's meet up next week. Lots of kuwento. =)

When Love Finds You

When he finds it doesn't matter if you're young or old. You may not be your peak but you will certainly be your best. The fire in your eyes will not be there instead they will glitter like stars. Your smile shall be from the heart, full of new dreams; your laughter shared with another soul. Your freedom you will freely surrender with a simple wish that the present will last forever.

Just believe.

Thank you for your words. I agree. I guess I just need to remind myself of these things from time to time. :)
